Your physician has arranged a date for your surgical procedure and will provide specific instructions for you to follow.
Once your surgery is scheduled, you will receive a call from our Pre-Admission testing staff. You will be asked questions regarding your health that will assist us in preparing for your surgical experience. Depending on the type of surgery and the type of anesthesia you and your surgeon may have selected, an appointment for additional pre-surgical testing may be required.
Please call 973-671-0555 between the hours of 6:30am and 6:00 p.m. the day before your procedure. Ask for the pre-operative nurse, who will review these instructions with you and notify you of your arrival time.
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight, the night before your surgery. Also, please follow any other specific instructions your surgeon may have given you. (Special instructions may be given for small children.)
Call your physician if there are any changes in your physical condition, since you last saw him/her, such as fever or infection.
If you need to cancel your appointment for surgery, please notify your physician and the Short Hills Surgery Center at 973-671-0555 as soon as possible.
